Hello I'm a soldier from Italy and I want to tell you why my country is in the war. My name is LuigiMeatball and I am fifteen and me and my twin brother Mario are fighting for the respect of our country. My country Italy wants respect from the other European nations. We demand territory from Austria-Hungary. I feel that my people should not live in lands currently ruled by Austrians. My country Italy was separated by the North being industrialized and the South was not. This was making Italy as being weak. Italy wanted to be unified.
Who kill the Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria-Hungary and how did they do it?
The Archduke was assassinated while visiting the city of Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia. Bosnia was under the rule of Austria-Hungary.The Serbs and Slavs lived in Bosnia. The Archduke's visit made many of the Serbian nationalist very angry. There was one terrorist group named the Black Hand who were the ones trying to kill the archduke and his wife. The leader of the group and his beat friend were going to die of a disease anyway, so they wanted to be remembered as hero. There were seven members and their plan was to be set up a few miles from each other, then try and kill the archduke and his wife and then kill themselves. So one of the Black Hand members shot a gernade at the archduke and his wife, then ran and jumped in a river to make sure he died. The Black Hand member missed and hurt a lot of people. The police caught the man who though the gernade and put him in jail. The other members went to plan another attack, and the leader went to get a sandwich. While the archduke and his wife felt like visiting the people who were hurt by the gernade in the hospital. The archduke's drive took a wrong turn and was trying to back up, but the gears were jamed. The leader who went to get lunch just happened to be on the same street as the archduke was coming on, so when the member saw him he took out his gun and shot two bullits. The Black Hand member was caught and put in jail. Soon after the arch duke and his wife were confirmed as dead. The other members of the Black Hand were also caught and put in jail or got the death penalty. While that was happening my brother and I were training for the war.
Battle Tactics ! ! !
My country Italy use the trenches. We have machine guns and we sit there and wait for our enemy to make a move. Though every time one side makes a move many get kill, but no one progresses. We are at a stalemate right now and many soldiers are either hurt or dead. Me, I'm healing right now along with my brother Mario. I don't know how much longer we can stay down here. We should be get out in two to three weeks.
Propaganda
This poster is called Propaganda because it has a special meaning. This poster is trying to get more people to join the army. The poster says "Take The Sword Of Justice" which could mean come join the army and fight for the justice of your country. There are mnay other types of different propaganda some for your own country and some angainst your country.
Russia left the war, but the U.S.A. just came in ! ! ! ! !
So we just heard on the radio Russia left the war because of some problem they had in their country. The only problem is that we also heard that the U.S.A. is now in the war. They have fresh bodies and they're a big country. They have weapons, but they don't have an alliance with anyone so they might not be such a big threat.
Christmas ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !
Today is Christmas and most country are ready for battle. Then all of a sudden Mario and I see Germany with chocolate and other goods. They came and said "Hello, come and celibrate Christmas with us. So all the countries laughed and sang together. I met a U.S.A. soldier when I was there. His name was Bob. Bob had a wife and kids back home. His wife's name was Betty, and he had two kids a girl and a boy. The girl's name was Janet and the boys name was Robert Jr. After all of that fun we went back to our base. To sleep for tomarrows battle.
The Treaty of Versailles............
We couldn't believe what we were hearing The War Has Ended ! ! ! ! ! ! I was so overjoyed but we stayed quiet to hear why. The Prime Ministers and Delegates and Presidents got together to talk. They ended up blaming Germany for the war but could not put all charges on them or Europe would go into dept. So in the end Germany had a lot of dept. to pay for the damage of other countries. My country was angry about how we didn't get all the land we were promised in our secret alliance.
Back At Home ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !
Mario and I are almost home, I can't wait to see everyone. When we finally reach our small town. We see our parents. We run to them as they run to us. We hug and cry. When we got to our house many people from our town were there. We said hello to our friends and said sorry to the families who lost a family member.
It's been a few week since we got home every thing feels back to normal.
